Publication design is the practice of organizing text, imagery, and visual elements across multi-page formats to create clear, engaging, and cohesive narratives. Within graphic design, it blends typography, layout, hierarchy, and visual rhythm to guide readers, support content, and ensure consistency across print and digital publications.
Penguin Press Book Jacket

This project involved designing a complete book jacket for Severus: Dumbledore’s Secret Weapon, a fantasy prequel exploring the complexity and moral tension of one of the Harry Potter universe’s most conflicted characters. The design uses a restrained color palette, traditional serif typography, and a solitary illustrated portrait to convey themes of secrecy, sacrifice, and quiet heroism. Careful attention was given to hierarchy, alignment, and consistency across the front cover, spine, back cover, and flaps to ensure a cohesive, professional result. This piece demonstrates my ability to translate narrative tone into visual storytelling while meeting real-world publishing standards.
Art Talk Magazine
This magazine was designed as a cohesive editorial publication that uses structured grid systems, clear typographic hierarchy, and visual rhythm to support readability and storytelling. The layout balances imagery and content while maintaining consistency across spreads, with careful attention to pagination, margins, image resolution, and color space to ensure print-ready execution. The final design reflects a thoughtful blend of creative layout decisions and production considerations, resulting in a polished publication suitable for professional print and digital use.
